Treatment Sessions

Encore’s mission is to help you feel better and live well. Each treatment session is tailored to your individual needs to aid relaxation and restore balance within the body.

Prior to your massage, Jodi will meet with you to review your health history and discuss any issues that you might be experiencing. After talking with you, she’ll leave the treatment room so you may undress in privacy. During the massage you will lie draped under warm, fresh linens on a softly padded massage table, designed for your comfort and support. Only the specific area of the body being treated will be undraped. A light oil or lotion is used to prevent friction while gliding over your skin. Jodi will also check in with you throughout the session to make sure that the pressure being used is appropriate for your personal comfort level.

Clients are encouraged to indulge themselves in this personal downtime to nurture both the body and the mind. Focusing on your breathing and refraining from conversation helps bring awareness to the mind-body connection and promotes a deeper sense of relaxation, which often induces a much needed peaceful sleep during the massage.

Once the session has ended, Jodi will leave the treatment room so that you can redress in privacy. She’ll briefly meet with you again to share feedback and suggest a treatment plan if needed. Over the next twenty-four hours following your massage, it’s important to drink plenty of water to help flush the toxins (metabolic waste) that were released from the body’s soft tissue.

Managing Your Kneads

To get the most out of your treatment, it is essential to understand that the effects of therapeutic massage are cumulative in nature. Receiving massage regularly gently stretches and tones muscle tissue while increasing flexibility and improving joint range of motion. These cumulative effects serve as a natural “preventative maintenance plan” for the body, protecting it from unnecessary strains and injuries caused by excess tension and structural weaknesses.
